5 Days in the Valley of Yuck

Whew, its been a few days since I last posted. Cold and Flu season hit my house hard last week and while I could see the up-side of it and say it was the quietest 5 days my house has seen in years…the truth is it stinks to be sick, and it doesn’t get better when you’re surrounded by a house full of other sick people at the same time.

Still, there is something positive I wanted to share about my down-time with readers who are building their own online businesses or Internet Marketing ventures.

Even though I’ve been unable to do much more than monitoring emails since last Wednesday, I did still earn a little over $600 from my marketing and mini-sites during the past 5 days running on auto-pilot. That’s down a bit from what I would normally do, but considering that it came without any work or promotions on my part during the period I’m quite happy with it.

As I’ve mentioned here before, Internet Marketing isn’t my primary business. I launch and run these sites as a side venture that supplements my main income. Thankfully I have several fantastic associates who are willing and capable to step up and handle the day to day operations of my primary business when I’m not, but they don’t assume any of the work or responsibilities from my marketing and mini-sites in those times.

My point to all this is–and I hope its inspirational to you–if you develop quality sites and content when building your web sites, especially those that are able to convert visitors into revenue in a hands-off manner such as marketing sites do, then you will be able to rely on them to continue earning you an income even during times when you’re unable to work on or promote them properly. Such as while you and your family are all down sick, or perhaps on a vacation… you get the picture.
